Show and Tell

This is the first installment in a new series that will present - or rather explore - a project from start to finish. Each month, another part of the project will be highlighted, usually also with focus on a different implementation aspect.  The project is for a factory or warehouse  type of simulation.  The first part presents an overview of the  system and a look at some Service Applications.

Spotlight Presentation

"Gang of Four" Patterns 101

"Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software" by Gamma, Helm, Johnson and Vlissides is the seminal text on patterns first published in 1994. To really communicate with serious software designers, we must have a working understanding of the 23 basic patterns presented in this book. This session provides a 50,000 foot view of patterns and should convince you to dig a little deeper if this is a new topic for you.
